Origin and meaning of Howlite
Howlite is a semi-precious stone first discovered in 1868 in Canada by the geologist and mineralogist Henry How. It is often recognized for its calming properties, encouraging patience and helping to eliminate anger and inner rage.
Howlite Gemmology
Howlite is a white or gray borosilicate stone with black or brown veining. It is often tinted and sold as an imitation of Turquoise or Lapis Lazuli. However, Howlite can be distinguished by its lower density and its hardness, which is 3.5 on the Mohs scale, making it softer than Turquoise. Additionally, Howlite does not exhibit the same glassy sheen as Turquoise.

Howlite maintenance and recharging
To clean your Howlite , you can run it under lukewarm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the stone.
The Howlite recharges in daylight. Place it in a well-lit place, preferably in the sun, to recharge its energy. However, avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for too long, as this could cause it to fade.
By caring for your Howlite, you can enjoy its calming energy for many years.
